Mrs. Lula Mae Saine

Lula Mae Saine was born on January 2, 1926, in Egypt Arkansas to Samuel David King, and Beatrice Elizabeth Finger. She was the fourth of twelve siblings, seven preceded her in death. Lula confessed Christ at an early age at Sweet Home Baptist Church in Egypt Arkansas. There she song in the choir while growing up. On August 27, 1949, Lula Mae was united in marriage to Almos Saine and to this union twelve children were born. She later moved to Forrest City Arkansas. She became a member at Salem Missionary Baptist Church in the Early 1950’s under the leadership of Rev. W. A. Owens. Her membership remained there until her death. As a member of Salem, she was in the Missionary Society, Dorcas Circle, Widow club, secretary of the program committee, and faithfully served as an usher for many years until she could no longer stand. Also, she was the secretary of the program committee under Rev. J. A. Toney. Lula Mae lived a full enjoyable life. She loved the Lord, and she was self- learner and taught her children, and grandchildren about the goodness of God and his word. She was the reason why many of her family members learned and engage in reading today. She taught her children about finance and often would say “don’t spend all your money, pay your bills on time and you can get credit”. She always had a word of wisdom for her grandchildren. She worked various jobs to help take care of her family. She was devoted to her family, and she “LOVED” to sing. She was often found cooking in the kitchen singing her favorite spiritual songs. Also, she loved, reading, writing, cooking, sewing, canning, and planting flowers. Her greatest joys were shopping, buying purses, and traveling especially with her granddaughter/daughter /Carla, spending time with her family and friends, family reunions, and talking with her sister daily to keep up with the family news. In 1976, Lula completed her high school education at Evans night school. She was offered a scholarship to attend EACC and refused so she could help take care of her grandchildren. She was an active participant at the senior citizens program, and for many years she was the treasurer over the activity committee. In her golden years, she traveled many places with the senior citizens and was happy to be among her peers. Lula Mae was not only a mother at Salem Baptist Church, but the mother to many children. She reared her children, and grandchildren. She took cake of other children so their parents could go to work. She was the glue that held her family together. Her home was A SAFE HAVEN, for her family to come into from life’s storm. Lula Mae was not only a mother at Salem Baptist Church, but the mother to many children. Her home was A SAFE HAVEN, for her family to come into from life’s storm. But GOD knew she ran her race and called her to a home not built by man, on July 9, 2021, at 5:17 AM. Lula was preceded death by her husband Almos Saine, parents Beatrice E. and Samuel David King, two children, Richard, and Lloyd Anthony Saine, one stepson Waverly Jones, seven siblings, Darthula Tomlin, Samantha King, Ernestine Cook, Maggie Rogers, Charlie, Clarence, and Samuel David King 2nd, one grandson Michael J. House, two sons in law Steven Hunt and Jackie Walker. Mother Lula Mae leaves to cherish her memory, and to carry on her legacy, ten children Ethel Tabb, and Almos J. Saine (Forrest City Ark) Jacquelyn Walker, and Sharon Saine of (Toledo Ohio). David Saine, Evelyn Saine, and Keith Saine (Detroit Michigan), Magnolia (Leon) Sanford, Janice Saine (Little Rock Arkansas). Geraldine Saine of (Fayetteville Ark), A granddaughter/daughter Carla Hunt (Houston Texas). Four siblings, Mary Hawk (Goose Creek S.C.) Melvin (Paulette) King, and Bernice Williams (St. Louis Mo.) Barbara (Tommie) Biernat of (Carson City CA), and a brother inlaw Fred Cook, (Detroit MI). She leaves 30 Grandchildren, 56 Great Grand Children, 2 Great Great Grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, friends, other relatives, and special cousins, Ernest Finger, and Hadie Weaver.
